Chrome ore washing plants usually include two main processes: washing and beneficiation. Ore dressing is the physical or chemical treatment of ores through mineral processing equipment to separate useful ores and gangue. Commonly used methods include gravity separation, flotation, strong magnetic separation, etc.
1. Washing and screening process of chrome ore
Washing and screening chromium ore can remove other mineral impurities, while also recovering fine chromium ore particles in the slurry to improve the grade of chromium ore.
Commonly used washing and screening equipment include:
Trommel scrubber: a commonly used integrated washing and screening equipment. Washing and screening are carried out at the same time.
Trommel screen: The rolling screen drum drives the movement of the ore, and the ore is graded through the screen.
Vibrating screen: Rinse the ore with running water and screen it on the vibrating screen at the same time.
2.Chrome ore gravity separation process
Gravity separation is the most commonly used method. Through the difference in density of different ores, a gravity separator is used to separate particles to obtain chromium-rich ores.
Chute, shaker, jig and other equipment are commonly used in chromium ore gravity separation.
Sipral chute: Large processing capacity, small footprint. The recovery rate is slightly lower than that of shaking table, but it is cost-effective and can be used in combination with shaking table.
Shaking table: high recovery rate, simple operation, small processing capacity of a single device, often used to assist other re-selection equipment for further selection.
Jig separator: Suitable for processing coarse-grained ores.
3. Chrome ore strong magnetic separation process
Since chromite has weak magnetism, a strong magnetic separator can effectively separate chromite from associated minerals. When single gravity separation and flotation have average effects, magnetic separation can be used as a supplementary method to increase recovery rate. Magnetic separation can also work well for fine-grained chromite ores and tailings.
4.Chrome ore strong magnetic separation + flotation process
Some chromium ores contain not only chromite, but also other valuable minerals such as phosphate ore and copper ore. At this time, it is difficult for a single magnetic separation or flotation to separate various minerals well, and the two processes need to be used in combination.
The ore must be ground before processing. Generally, magnetic separation is first used to remove non-magnetic minerals, and then the concentrate is flotated.
The beneficiation of chromium ore usually uses a combination of multiple beneficiation processes and equipment, rather than a single beneficiation process, to achieve the best beneficiation effect.
